DANCING WITH PURPOSE

Bega River Dancers were formed in 2022 by Djirringanj woman Bronwyn Luff, under the guidance of Sharon Mason from Djaadjawan Dancers.
Bega River Dancers is a multigenerational dance group from Djirringanj country. Dancing together and Connecting to Culture through dance has allowed all the members to feel strong and proud. 2024 will be their first time at Giiyong Festival and we look forward to welcoming them to the Bunaan.

Every part of this country is, always was and always will be, Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal people, to Elders and Custodians past, present and emerging and in particular the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of the Bega Valley where Giiyong Festival makes its home – the people of the Yuin and Monaro nations.

Giiyong Festival is presented with the support of the Australian Federal Government through Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support Program, the NSW Government through Create NSW

Dhilwaan Yarrkural (Nightfall Dance) at Giiyong Festival 2024 is supported by the NSW Aboriginal Land Council Regional Event Grant.
