AMANDA REYNOLDS

Amanda Jane Reynolds is a Guringai and Yuin possum cloak-maker, artist, curator and storyteller passionate about the flourishing of southeastern cultures and communities. She established Stella Stories on south coast in late 2010 and juggles her time between ongoing learning; grassroots community workshops; and collaborations with museums, galleries and public spaces. Amanda has had the privilege of working in culture and community for three decades and holds deep gratitude for all the Elders who have held spaces and guided communities over the generations. Stella Stories holds unwavering faith in the next generation of young people and the young-at-heart of all ages – coming together for culture, community, Country.

Amanda is super-excited to be returning to her 4th Giiyong Festival and is so proud the talented young women opening the morning Bunaan ceremony circle will showcase Stella Stories possum ceremony-wear featuring special plants and animals of Yuin Country. Together with family and friends, Stella Stories will host a market stall and a family friendly ‘Weave-able and Wear-able’ session in the activity circle so you all look deadly at the evening finale.
